Detached
2017, A collection of 5 photographs
Take a Step Back.
A far away yet intimate view of human instinct and nature. Illustrated with muted palettes and spacious compositions, this series of photographs present moments that occur in everyday life that is noticed but yet not acknowledged.
Spume
Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.
“On a sunny day with perfect skies, I remember walking along to beach, soaking in the surroundings when I turned and saw this lone surfer slowly walking through the waves. He looked as though he was contemplating yet active at the same time against the subtle gradients and depth of the landscape.”
Terminal
Tokyo, Japan
“Tokyo subways during rush hours are the busiest scenes you’ll ever witness. This shot was taken of a train conductor performing his regular duties amongst a interior reflection of the fluorescent lit train.”
Lightwaves
Yaowarat, Bangkok, Thailand
“I have always been intrigued by light leaks that organically happen whilst photographing using film stock. This photo was one of those underexposed shots that would usually go straight to the trash but yet the accidental light leak breaths a new life though the image itself.”
Conciousness
Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan
“Through the busy streets and crossing of Shibuya, Japan. The crossings are always filled with a handful of people rushing across. I found the shadow of this anonymous man in particular to be really intriguing”
In Flight
Sherbrook River, Victoria, Australia
“Rocks, waves, wet sand and dry sand creates a gentle yet dramatic background to a bird in flight, almost melting and merging in to one another.”
